I have named this exhibition Good Fortune and Gathering -

I have departed from the notion of good fortune that has a special place in the Orient culture I have tried to reanimate the rituals through using the objects that symbolize good fortune. It has been a very exciting and experimental working period for me.
I have seen how colorful people’s wishes could be and how various their fears are. The colors that I have used in my paintings reflect those wishes.

The prayers said when tying pieces of cloth to the trees
Dances which salute the rising sun
Horse-shoes, turtle-shells, horse-skulls that welcome the good and curse the evil Evil-eyes and harmal seeds which embellish interior walls
Amulets on chests
Bird, eye ornaments on carpets
And snakes which symbolize bad luck.

Gathering is the name I have given to a series of paintings four of which I have chosen for this exhibition.
I have worked on themes of waiting-calling-gathering together and home through rethinking the concepts of indistictness, transitivity, loneliness,
The theme of home has inspired me the villages.
Themes of waiting and calling have turned into figures.
Green has become the dominant color in the series.
